There is so much material covered on this CD, but it’s meant to act as a
supplement to your child’s education or even to prepare him for state
tests. It is a PowerPoint presentation that your child can click
through, and it includes a variety of facts, but it also includes
quiz-like questions, matching exercises, definitions, word scrambles,
fill in the blanks, etc. It really helps to spark the learner’s
thinking skills. There are plenty of illustrations throughout, so that
part is especially nice for those who learn better visually.
I love the fact that I can go to Learning Workroom’s site, as well, and
print out different worksheets and forms.
My favorite form, by far, is the Experiment Form. I’ve been looking
for a simple experiment form that Jacob can use with all of the
experiments he has to do in science this year, and I’ve finally found
one here."

Homeschool mom, we are always looking for new and exciting ways to learn
information. My son is a science lover, and he adsorbs it like a
sponge! Which is really awesome, but hard for me to find things that

son really liked this Cd cause it was full of information, and very
interactive for him. With questions for him to answers, as well as words
to unscramble. I really liked this Cd, cause it had lots of
information, was geared for kids his age, and is easy enough for him to
use without me having to be right there. I also liked that the harder
words, had easier terminology in parentheses next to the word. Each
section had between 60-80 slides of information. We were really happy
with our Science Cd. It will provide hours of learning and fun for all 3
of my monkey's!!"

"If you are looking for a way to give some independence to your learner then the Learning Workroom is
one way to do that. This is an interesting educational program
that children can use for math, science and language arts and
homeschoolers can benefit from this as well. If you’re
already using a language arts (I was given the the English
Language Arts Grade 3-6 for review) curriculum you can still use
this in conjunction with that. It is almost like having a
personal tutor in your own home and while working with the other
children your grade 3-6 could be learning via a power point
presentation on the subject of your choice.
The CD-ROM is $34.95 however it’s very much worth it and even my
husband enjoyed going through some of the slide shows. For
the English Language Arts CD-ROM there are three slide shows
including Language (Grammar), Reading and Literature and
Composition. These are interactive and very easy to figure
out with a few keystrokes or by using the mouse. Running the CD is
very easy and simple all you do is just insert it into the drive and it
should begin running automatically, however there are directions on the
back of the case if it doesn’t run like that for you."

As a
homeschool mom I'm always looking for new tools to help make learning
fun and interesting for my kids. I recently had the opportunity to
review a cd-rom from Learning Workroom and we chose to try the Science for grades 3-5.
My
oldest is in third grade and he loves this! Science isn't his favorite
subject (if you ask him he doesn't like any subject!) but this kept his
attention. Often there is just so much reading and things start to get
jumbled for him and he doesn't retain a lot of what he's read.
The Learning Workroom cd is setup to be viewed in Power Point format (I use www.openoffice.org--it's
FREE!) and you can easily flip through the sections and slides. The
information on each slide is setup nicely and isn't overwhelming. We
also like the animation added to some of them!
What
I found to work for us is to use this as a supplement for what we're
reading about at the time. We read our science chapter and then we
follow up with our Learning Workroom CD. My son is able to go through the slides himself and the lesson is reinforced.
The Science CD inludes:
- Earth & Space Science (Solar System, Rocks, Soil, Weather)
- Life Science (Plants, Animals)
- Physical Sciences (Matter, Energy: Electricity, Magnetism, Light, Sound, etc.)

don't know about you, but I am always looking for ways to facilitate
lessons learned in the classroom. I'm especially interested in finding
ways to keep my kids sharp over breaks. Christmas break, Spring Break
and Summer Vacation are all times when I see my kids losing some of what
they have learned. I am well aware that getting your kids to practice
the skills they have learned helps keep them from losing comprehension

preferred the CD for Grade 5-6 for those things. So Nathan told me some
of the stuff was a bit old news, but he really liked the rest.
Nathan and I also like the downloadable worksheets found on the site.
Our favorite is the Number Sense Word Search. I also liked the
multiplication charts as we started working on multiplication facts. I

Thanks to the kind folks at Learning Workroom we were
able to review their Mathematics Software for grades 3-4.
My 7 yo loves the fun characters and enjoys learning math
with the Steps to Scholastic Success Slide Shows provided
